A staple of 2000's anime conventions, a wood paddle which had yaoi terms (uke, seme, just yaoi, or even yuri) written on it.
These paddles were then used as cosplay props or to spank attendees, which wasn't always consensual.
These unconsensual spankings brought the yaoi paddles to infamy, which resulted in bannings and their consequent fading out.
