Yabuki Joe is the titular protagonist from Ashita no Joe.
Born in poverty, Joe was an impulsive criminal who committed various petty crimes to survive and help others, which eventually led him to being sent into prison. There, he met Rikiishi Tooru, who challenges him to a boxing match. Joe feels motivated by this moment and has since decided to delicate his life to become a world boxing champion.
