turbo baachan
Turbo Baachan, literally "Turbo Granny", is a monster from Japanese urban legends. This old woman appears on roads prone to fatal driving errors, such as inside tunnels or in mountains at night, and startles the driver by running parallel to the moving car.
There are countless variations to the name and appearance, but all contain some kind of humorous element. Names combined with the traffic law's speed limit such as "xx km/h Babaa (old hag)" are especially popular.
Stories of the monster directly attacking the spectators are surprisingly few, and almost all of the damage done to drivers are from driving errors resulting from the shock.
