The true 'Raven' whom the player borrowed the callsign from after gaining illegal entry into the planet Rubicon III, pilots the AC Nightfall. Official gender is unknown, as only the operator speaks on behalf, but the Karl Urban-played character standing in front of Nightfall in the live action trailer seems to suggest a man.
Around the mid chapters of the game, Raven appears before the player and challenges them to a duel, not as reprimand for the act of identity theft, but to examine their ability to "live up to the Raven's name". Upon defeating Nightfall, the title of Raven is inherited by the player character C4 621.
