rathian
A flying wyvern from the Monster Hunter series.
Rathian are large, green, fire-breathing dragons known as the Queen of the Wyverns. All are female, the males are called Rathalos. Unlike Rathalos, Rathian fight primarily on the land, using fireballs and venomous spines that cover their backs and the end of their tails. They're often inhabit forests, swamps, and deserts environments.
There are two subspecies; the Pink Rathian, a pink variant, and the Gold Rathian, a rare variant with a golden sheen. Originally appearing in Monster Hunter G, they have both reappeared in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and in Monster Hunter 3 G. A third, black subspecies has been introduced for Monster Hunter Frontier, as well.
