oberth class space destroyer

A fictional military spacecraft from the MACROSS science fiction series. It first appeared in the Choujikuu Yousai Macross TV series from 1982.

The Oberth Class Space Destroyer (オーベルト級 Ōberuto-kyū) is a human built warship designed as the primary combat starship of the new United Nations Spacy fleet.

Built with OverTechnology and armed with reaction weaponry, the Oberth compensated for lightweight armor (the only weakness) with a simple, easy-to-build structure, high maneuverability and excellent firepower. A direct hit from one of the Oberth reaction missiles could incapacitate a Zentradi Standard Battleship of the Thurvel-Salan Class.
