A character from the Transformers science fiction franchise.
Jetfire is a heroic Autobot, a sentient alien robot that can transform into a red and white combat spacecraft.
In Japan and in the first TV series his name was changed to Skyfire (スカイファイアー). He used to be Starscream's best friend in the past.
Jetfire's first American toy was a conversion of the original VF-1 Super Valkyrie mecha from MACROSS (created by Kawamori Shouji in the early 80s).
In the live action films he is an old robot warrior that transforms into an SR-71 jet. In the movies he used to be a Decepticon, but eventually got tired of being one and decided to side with the Autobots.
