The game's story begins when Dark Crafter steals all the color from Planet Planet Popstar while taking control of Claycia through the sunglasses she was wearing. After Kirby and Elline free Claycia, Dark Crafter reveals itself as a large, one-eyed cloud with multiple colors cycling through it.
