The Cobra B.A.T. (Battle Android Trooper) is an advanced and semi-autonomous robot soldier, mass produced and employed by the Cobra Command terrorist organization.
The B.A.T.s are armed with a built-in arm cannon and a holstered sidearm. They carry several attachments for the arm cannon in their backpacks, such as a flamethrower add-on and a combat claw.
The B.A.T.s are usually deployed in great numbers to provide disposable brute strength to the Cobra army.
The action figure debuted in 1986 and became very popular. As of March 2014, there have been more than 24 figures in the 3 3/4-inch line of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, most released as either B.A.T. or Cobra B.A.T., one figure released as B.A.A.T. (Battle Armored Android Trooper) as part of the Star Brigade line, one figure released as Cobra Inferno B.A.T, and one figure released as Cobra Sky B.A.T.
