Mario character first appearing in Yume Koujou: Doki Doki Panic, then later incorporated into the Mario franchise proper with the international version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Birdos were a reoccurring mid-boss and subordinate of Wart during the attempted conquest of Subcon. Since then however the species has become overall less antagonistic and much more friendlier.
They are dinosaur-like with large snouts in place of a mouth, from which they shoot white eggs out of to attack. They have long eyelashes, eyeshadow and wear an ornate ring. They wear an oversized bow on the back of their heads as well as have claws.
Birdos come in a variety of colors, though the main color is pink. Compared to Toads and Yoshis, Birdos are much more consistently represented by a singular individual in a given game, where it's much rarer to see the rest of the species or a multitude in one place.
