Named after the ʻApapane, a small red bird from the Hawaiian Islands. Follows her sire's Hawaiian theme naming.

Japanese racehorse. Sired by King Kamehameha and foaled by Salty Bid. Apapane is Japan's third Triple Tiara.

She is Akaitorino Musume's dam.
